Padma Lakshmi Bio

Padma Parvati Lakshmi is a Chennai-based Indian woman who was born on September 1st, 1970. Lakshmi lost her parents at the age of 2 years old. Her mother moved to USA to escape Indian stigma. Lakshmi lived for two years with her maternal grandparents, in Chennai prior to her move to the United States. The couple divorced, and she has a younger brother and sister. Lakshmi who's last name means the Hindu goddess of prosperity, wealth and success, was born in New York. She then was raised by her mother and stepfather in Los Angeles. She went back to India for several months each year to visit family. Padma Lakshmi began to be interested in acting in 1999. The first film she appeared in was "Figlio of Sandokan", a movie about the life of an Italian pirate. Then, she was an important role in 'Caraibi' (Pirates: Blood Brothers) which is a drama about pirates of the 17th century. In 2001, she was in a comedy role supporting the disco singer in 'Glitter.' Padma has a daughter named Krishna Thea Lakshmi Dell, with Adam Dell who is a venture investor. Krishna was born in February 2010 on the 20th of February, 2010. Teddy Forstmann, who was the former CEO and chairman of IMG and is also her co-partner. Lakshmi has a child with American venture capitalist Adam Dell. Although she initially did not reveal the identity of the child's father from the public, Lakshmi later revealed him to be Dell. The daughter of Dell, she said, "Everything's better with her around." "Anything from the start of the day till the time of closing. I don't have the patience to pay attention to any other person than her.
