Kari Matchett Biography

Kari Matchett (Canadian actress) is famous for her role in films like Apartment Hunting' and Men with Brooms'. Born in Spalding, Saskatchewan and raised there, she eventually moved to Alberta where she completed high school. As a teenager she began to become attracted to acting. She attended the Montreal's National Theatre School and then went on to the Moscow Theatre School for further training. She made her television debut in 1996, playing a supporting part in the Canadian show called "The Rez.' She was also featured in shows like "Ready or Not" and "Forever Knight". She made her film debut in the late 1990s, with the film titled Papertrail. She then was in films such as "Men with Brooms, 'Cypher', and others. In addition, she played supporting roles in television series' like 'A Nero Wolfe Mystery' and  Blue Murder.' The actress was also seen in films until the 2000s. However the films she appeared in were less than her TV ones. In 1998 she played the lead role of 'Colleen blessed' in the Canadian drama series 'Power Play. The show ran for two seasons and 26 episode and garnered high commercial and critical praise. In recognition of her role in the series she was nominated for the Gemini Award. She gave birth to an infant son named Jude Lyon Matchett, in June of 2013. However, she refused to disclose the father of her child. According to some sources, the father of her son was her ex-boyfriend. Kari Matchett met T.W. Peacocke in the mid-1990s, and they began dating. They got married in 1998. The couple divorced in 2006.
