Deborah Rhea
Seehorn, born May 12, 1972 is an American actress. Her most well-known role is
the role of Kim Wexler, an attorney in AMC's Better Call Saul (2015-2018) where
she was twice awarded the Satellite Award as Best Supporting Actress (Series,
Miniseries or Television Film. She has also appeared on NBC's Whitney
(2011-2013), ABC's I'm with Her (2003-2004), and TNT's Franklin & Bash
(2011-2014). Deborah Rhea Seehorn, a Norfolk native was born on May 12 in 1972.
Her mother was an executive assistant for the United States Navy, and her
father was an agent in the Naval Investigative Service. She was raised in a
household who moved often, which included in Washington, D.C., Arizona, and
Japan. Following the footsteps of her grandmother and father She was interested
in painting, drawing and architectural design from an early age. Though she
pursued all of the arts in her life, she developed a passion for acting. While
in college, she was introduced to the world of contemporary theater. In 1994,
she graduated from George Mason University with a Bachelor of Arts in Studio
Art. Seehorn started her career in college as an actor, and was encouraged by
her acting teacher. She tried to get noticed by working different ancillary
positions in D.C. theater. The result was some major parts in local theater
productions, but still needed to take odd jobs to help make ends meet as she
landed roles in a variety of short industrial instructional films. Soon, she
was able to find roles in television productions. The roles she played were
usually that were "very wry and sarcastic" like her idol Bea Arthur.
Many of these roles were deleted after only two or three seasons. Seehorn was
cast as Kim Wexler in the Breaking Bad prequel series Better Call Saul in May
2014. Seehorn portrays Kim Wexler, a lawyer as well as the love interest of the
title Jimmy McGill/Saul Wellman (Bob Odenkirk).
