Bonnie Wright

Bonnie Francesca Wright was born 17 February 1991. She is a model, actress, and director from England. Her most well-known character is that of Ginny Weasley who is the Harry Potter film series's main character. Born in London, Wright portrayed the role for ten consecutive years, until she was chosen to play the character as the character in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II (2011). Wright appeared in several independent films, including Before I Sleep (2013) and The Sea (2013). The films received mixed praise. She was the stage's first lead character in Peter Ustinov's The Moment of Truth at the Southwark Playhouse in 2013.Wright graduated from the University of the Arts London in 2012 with an undergraduate diploma in filmmaking. She subsequently founded her own production firm, BonBonLumiere, and began producing short films. Her first film as a director was the coming-of age drama Separate We Come, Separate We Go (2012) featuring David Thewlis, which was released at the Cannes Film Festival to critical applause. She directed Know Thyself (2016), with Christian Coulson, and Sextant (2016), both of which featured landscape and emotion as the main themes. Wright's trilogy Phone Calls, which was premiering at Tribeca Film Festival 2017, included three episodes. Medusa’s Ankles (2018) with Kerry Fox, Jason Isaacs and based upon A. S. Byatt's The Matisse Stories. She also created music videos for Scarlett Johansson, Pete Yorn and Sophie Lowe. Wright is an ambassador for Greenpeace, Lumos and has been recognized for her environmental activism.
