Alona Tal

Alona Tal, an Israeli American actress and singer, was born October 20, 1983 in Herzliya. After serving in the Israeli Defense Forces, she began her career. Her acting debut was in an Israeli film in 2003. She also appeared in two Israeli television series at the time. She also tried her hand at music and made several tracks together with Subliminal, an Israeli rapper. Tal was moved in with her sister in New York to take a vacation from her professional life. She was a part of Wyclef Jean's band who is a Haitian artist, on the song "Party to Damascus". She also was able to establish herself as a character on American TV, starting by playing a recurring character in the series Veronica Mars: She originally was a candidate for the lead, but creator Rob Thomas wrote a new character specifically for her. Tal later snagged a regular role in the short-lived CBS series. She was on two television series in Israel before moving to New York. Wyclef Jean recorded a track. Hebrew is her mother tongue. Second choice for the role as Veronica in Veronica Mars (2004).Originally auditioned for Veronica Mars (2004) and was Rob Thomas' second choice to play the title role. Thomas liked her so much that he made the recurring role of Meg Manning specifically for her. He served in The Israel Defense Forces. Both her parents are Jewish and her father is Jewish/Turkish, and her mother Polish/Jewish. Plays the daughter of Adrian Monk's wife, who was killed in the finale of the last season of Monk (2002).Has one daughter, Charlie Ferraez (b.March 7, 2017), with her husband Marcos A. Ferraez.
