Milena Govich
Milena Govich, a director as well as an
actor and musician has directed many episodes of TV including Chicago Med
(2015), The Equalizer (2021), FBI: Most Wanted(2020), Chicago Fire (2012) and
many more. She also was the Co-EP/Producing Director for Dick Wolf's CBS series
FBI (2018), and is attached to direct two pilots that are in development.
Milena was chosen as one of the eight directors to take part in AFI's
prestigious Directing Workshop for Women. Unspeakable was her TV series as well
as a short film. It starred Jeff Kober and Laura Vandervoort the film was
awarded the award for Best Episodic at the Seattle International Film Festival
as well as the Best Pilot award at the SoHo International Film Festival. The
short film Temporary (2017) was screened throughout the country. She won Best
Narrative Short at Anthem Film Festival. Best Dark Comedy Award at Atlanta
ShortsFest. And the Director's Choice Award from Sedona International Film
Festival. As an actor Milena has appeared in close to 100 episodes of
television. She first gained national attention in CBS's Love Monkey (2006),
then as the prostitute/con-artist Candy on three seasons of Rescue Me (2004)
(Denis Leary/FX). Conviction (2006), which was a Dick Wolf series, was her
second main character. It led to her being the Emmy-winning female detective on
Law & Order (1990). K-Ville (2007), The Defenders (2010) (CBS), Make It
or Break It (2009) (ABC Family) and Lori Stevens in the MTV drama Finding
Carter (2014) have all featured her or featured her in reruns. Milena has been
featured in a variety of movies which include Sordid Things (2010); A Novel
Romance (2011) as a co-star with Steve Guttenberg; Pass the Light (2015) and
starring alongside Method Man; as well as the role of #Lucky Number (2015). A
native of Norman, Oklahoma, Milena was valedictorian at her high school. She
then completed two majors in vocal performance and pre-med with minors in dance
and violin at the University of Central Oklahoma, and also being valedictorian
of her graduation. In the following years she made the most of her classical
ballet training to make an appearance on Broadway in the production by Rob
Marshall and Sam Mendes of "Cabaret" at Studio 54.
