Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell was TV personality and ex-chef at the Institute of Culinary Education and formerly teaches cooking. Burrell hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef is a hit with her signature spiky blond locks and pumped up personality, provides the basics of cooking that anyone can master. Chef Burrell also worked at the top New York restaurants, has learned about Italian cuisine and its traditions and has competed on Food Network's Iron Chef America. Growing up in the Upstate region of New York Chef Burrell was inspired by food. The Culinary Institute of America was the next step following her graduation with the Bachelor of Arts in English and Communications from Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was where I had my most memorable time in my life. I didn't have enough knowledge, couldn't accomplish enough, and I couldn't put in the effort enough. Following graduation, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany as well as La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) while attending the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. Burrell gained a greater knowledge of Italian culture and cuisine throughout her time in Italy that has informed her style of cooking. Burrell was an Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board members, which strives to increase the quality of life for kids who are facing difficulties. Burrell also serves as an Juvenile Disease Research Foundation celebrity ambassador and advocates awareness of childhood diabetes. As a guest speaker and mentor Burrell travels throughout the United States to discuss her culinary passion and professional career. Through her culinary adventures, Anne has often said that I am very fortunate to share my passion for life with people.
